Key Responsibilities

  • •Plan and lead departmental/service development as part of the laboratory’s senior management team, including prioritising laboratory workload and implementing changes.
  • •Prioritise, perform, interpret, validate and authorise specialist immunology investigations according to standard operating procedures.
  • •Provide technical clinical advice to clinicians, identify and communicate abnormal results, and drive development of new or improved methods for routine use and clinical trials.
  • •Supervise and train staff, ensure daily provision of the service, lead procurement and integration of analytical equipment, and participate in equipment testing and adaptation.
  • •Support quality assurance and compliance, including UKAS ISO15189, research compliance (GCP, GCLP), internal/external quality control, audits, and documentation of adverse events.

Salary: GBP 47,389 - 56,535 annually

Key Requirements

  • •Science degree acceptable to ACB (or equivalent).
  • •State registration with the Health and Care Professions Council.
  • •MSc (or equivalent qualification/experience) required.
  • •Evidence of continuing professional development in accordance with HCPC requirements.
  • •Significant experience as a Clinical Scientist specialising in immunological diagnosis and monitoring, including supervising small teams.
