Job Summary

Plan and perform the design, installation, maintenance, and repair of measuring, analytical, and process control instruments at the Red Dog Mine. Investigate process control problems and resolve instrument malfunctions, troubleshoot electrical systems (including motor control circuits, schematics, and wire diagrams), and maintain preventative systems. Work a rotational schedule (two weeks on-site, two weeks off-site) while leading safety and supporting apprentices’ progression.

Key Responsibilities

•Serve as a safety leader by adhering to and sponsoring safety and environmental rules and procedures.
•Perform design, installation, configuration, calibration, maintenance, and repair of measuring, analytical, and process control instruments.
•Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, including motor control circuits, schematics and wire diagrams, and resolve instrument malfunctions.
•Use test equipment to monitor equipment and provide maintenance recommendations, including installing/programming/troubleshooting AC variable speed drives.
•Apply process and engineering calculations to size and select process instrumentation and industrial electrical equipment, and communicate updates with the shift team.

•Willing to train and mentor apprentices and work safely outdoors in extreme climatic conditions.
