Key Responsibilities

  • •Perform field inspections according to RIDOT Bridge Inspection Manual and FHWA National Bridge Inspection Standards.
  • •Prepare inspection reports and support bridge analyses and load rating calculations (3D FEM modeling as needed).
  • •Assist in bridge rehabilitation plans and documentation development as needed.
  • •Work at heights and use bridge inspection access equipment; climb ladders, scaffolding, aerial lifts; work in confined spaces and around live traffic.
  • •May work overnight, including within railroad right-of-way.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering plus 2 years of experience, or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
  • •Engineer-in-Training (E.I.T.) License (preferred)
  • •Bridge Load Rating experience (preferred)
  • •Experience with AutoCAD, CsiBridge, LEAP Concrete/Bridge, MathCAD, AASHTOware BrM/BrR and MDX (preferred)
  • •Proficient in MS Office Suite (preferred)
