Key Responsibilities

  • •Study blueprints or layouts to visualize machining requirements and plan the sequence of operations.
  • •Select workholding method and securely position and secure workpieces on machine tables, chucks, centers, or fixtures.
  • •Set and adjust machine parameters (feed rate, cutting speed, depth of cut) and tool selection; operate controls to feed and position tools against workpieces.
  • •Start coolant flow and observe/regulate tool position and action during machining; verify conformance to specifications.
  • •Perform preventive maintenance, housekeeping, and follow safety procedures; assist maintenance mechanics/electricians with troubleshooting and installation as needed.
