Key Responsibilities

  • •Execute hand calculations, spreadsheet work, and MATLAB/Python first-order models to guide the analysis path based on design state and program goals.
  • •Develop CFD models and simulations to predict temperatures, heat transfer, and fluid characteristics; generate, maintain, and correlate integrated FEMs for imaging platforms.
  • •Perform test-model correlation testing to validate analytical predictions.
  • •Collaborate with environmental test engineers on test design, instrumentation selection, execution, and data processing to validate models and predictions.
  • •Prepare technical reports presenting findings to internal teams, management, and external customers.

Key Requirements

  • •Currently pursuing or have obtained an MS or higher degree in engineering or applied physics focused on heat transfer and fluid dynamics.
  • •7+ years of experience in a thermal analysis or thermo-physics analysis role.
  • •Thermal FEA experience with STAR-CCM+, ANSYS, Icepak, or Flotherm.
  • •Familiarity with MATLAB or Python for developing analytical models and performing data acquisition and post-processing.
  • •Experience with test-model correlation and test-based characterization of critical modeling input parameters.
