Key Responsibilities

  • •Operate vehicles according to applicable state and federal transportation laws and observe all safety regulations.
  • •Transport loads safely and in a timely manner over required routes, obeying traffic laws.
  • •Maneuver truck and trailer into loading and unloading areas; follow loading crew signals and assist with loading/unloading using specialized equipment.
  • •Maintain and deliver required paperwork (signed invoices, shipping bills of lading, and other documentation) to the appropriate staff once the route is complete.
  • •Facilitate routine service on trucks (e.g., checking oil, water, gasoline, and air) and report maintenance malfunctions to the Shipping Supervisor.

Key Requirements

  • •Must hold either a commercial driver’s license (Class A CDL) or chauffeur’s license appropriate for the vehicle weight.
  • •Must pass background and drug testing as required by federal and/or state DOT regulations, including a DOT physical and a 10-panel drug screen.
  • •Must be at least 21 years old to operate the company vehicle.
  • •Must be able to lift and move up to 40 pounds and remain seated for prolonged periods in a trailer cab.
  • •Strong interpersonal and customer service skills with professional communication with customers and staff at delivery points.
