Key Responsibilities

  • •Review and assign accurate ICD-9, ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, DRG, and other applicable codes based on documented diagnoses and procedures.
  • •Ensure physician diagnoses and operative procedures are accurate, valid, and complete, including identifying secondary complications and comorbidities.
  • •Evaluate documentation for consistency, completeness, and adequacy, and ensure diagnoses reflect the care provided.
  • •Assign and validate appropriate DRG codes for inpatient cases and ensure correct E&M levels are assigned using CPT.
  • •Provide training, guidance, and support to Medical Coders and Medical Records Technicians, and keep staff updated on new coding rules and HAAD directives.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s Degree in Allied Health Sciences or a related field from a recognized institution.
  • •Minimum 2 years of Medical Coding experience.
  • •Valid AHIMA Certified Coding Associate (CCA) certification or AAPC Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification.
  • •Good computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • •Excellent command of spoken and written English.
