Key Responsibilities

  • •Develop and maintain shipyard web applications as part of an Agile team delivering digital products.
  • •Participate in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and liaise with business analysts and UX specialists to deliver and enhance software products.
  • •Contribute to estimating, detailed design, and planning for each software release.
  • •Maintain a well-kept codebase through code reviews and testing, using code analysis/performance tools, and keep documentation and configuration management up to date.
  • •Contribute to software process improvement and team development by sharing knowledge and experience, and champion digital innovation using new technologies and methodologies.

Key Requirements

  • •Web application development experience, ideally using JavaScript (React/Angular).
  • •Experience with Java and Quarkus, and familiarity with Wildfly and/or Spring Boot in a containerised service environment.
  • •Familiarity with Agile development and the Atlassian suite of tools, including Git and GitLab/Bitbucket.
  • •Familiarity with developing software for Defence projects, including reviewing, testing and maintaining code.
  • •Hold or be eligible to obtain Baseline Clearance; tertiary qualifications in IT/Computer Science/Engineering are desirable.
