Key Responsibilities

  • •Provide hands-on ownership and technical leadership for core backend services and pipelines, anchoring one primary domain (NELD or Ingestion).
  • •Own platform service architecture, design, and evolution, including clean service boundaries, APIs, and data contracts.
  • •Design scalable, high-throughput ingestion pipelines and streaming/batch workflows for logs, telematics, and event data.
  • •Translate HOS/ELD regulatory requirements into system behavior and guardrails, ensuring correctness, ordering, idempotency, and fault tolerance.
  • •Define SLOs for latency/availability/data accuracy and champion observability best practices, including graceful degradation and recovery; mentor engineers and drive engineering standards.

Key Requirements

  • •Strong CS fundamentals in DSA and system design.
  • •Deep hands-on backend experience with Java and Spring Boot.
  • •Strong distributed systems grounding: consistency, durability, retries, idempotency, backpressure, partitioning, and resilience.
  • •Practical experience with Kafka/Kinesis/Pulsar (or similar) for streaming ingestion.
  • •Experience operating production systems (on-call, incidents, and postmortems), with excellent communication and technical leadership.
