Key Responsibilities

  • •Safely perform work associated with the operation, maintenance, and construction of electric substations and related systems.
  • •Ensure safety and reliability of the electric system, especially substations and related systems.
  • •Diagnose issues in electric substations and related systems and correct problems.
  • •Follow instructions and function effectively in a team environment with supervisors, coworkers, customers, agencies, and trade allies.
  • •Respond to calls outside regular hours and be available 24/7 for emergency situations as required.

Key Requirements

  • •Have at least four years’ experience in electric construction and maintenance for substations and related systems, or have completed a formal training program, or demonstrate these skills on an appropriate test.
  • •Understand and diagnose problems related to electric substations and related systems and perform the work to correct them.
  • •Obtain and maintain required licenses/certificates and pass job tests; have applicable computer skills for the work.
  • •Have a high school diploma or GED and a valid driver’s license, with ability to obtain a CDL or other required certifications/licenses.
  • •Maintain a satisfactory work record and meet physical requirements to perform the job.
