Job Summary

Serve as a strategic advisor and second-line defender within Coinbase Luxembourg’s Compliance team. Own local compliance policy and framework development, drive the Compliance Monitoring Plan with thematic reviews, and support regulatory engagement through preparation for inspections, queries, and governance reporting. Assist with consumer protection monitoring and Compliance by Design reviews, coordinate regulatory reporting with data teams, and help the Chief Compliance Officer oversee AML/CFT implementation and regulatory horizon scanning.

Key Responsibilities

•Lead the drafting, maintenance, and updating of local compliance policies and frameworks aligned with EU/Luxembourg requirements and group standards.
•Own the Compliance Monitoring Plan and execute thematic reviews, partnering with Central Compliance Testing & Assurance for second-line coverage and consistent methodology.
•Prepare materials for inspections, regulatory queries, and governance bodies, and coordinate annual regulatory reports (e.g., AML Risk Assessment, RC Report, Annual Compliance Summary Report).
•Execute consumer protection monitoring across conflict of interest, transparency, and disclosure requirements; support Compliance by Design reviews for new products and services.
•Coordinate and handle regulatory reporting obligations, liaise with data teams and stakeholders for timely reporting, and support the CCO with AML/CFT oversight, regulatory horizon scanning, and impact assessments for emerging laws.

Key Requirements

•5-7+ years of compliance experience in an EU-regulated financial institution with progressively increasing responsibility across compliance disciplines.
•Working knowledge of EU financial regulations including MiCA, PSD2, AMLD, MiFID II, DORA, and GDPR, applied to policy drafting, monitoring plans, and regulatory reporting.
•Experience preparing materials for and directly engaging with regulators, auditors, and internal governance bodies.
•Experience leading compliance monitoring/testing programs and conducting thematic reviews with documented findings and remediation tracking.
•Fluency in English required; proficiency in French is a strong advantage; familiarity with crypto assets and related regulatory frameworks is preferred.
