Key Responsibilities

  • •Learn actuarial techniques, data sources, and spreadsheet reviews of rating factors with experienced departmental staff.
  • •Assist with detailed analysis of insurance programs, profitability, rating factors, reserve studies, dynamic financial analysis, and experience exhibits.
  • •Create exhibits, reports, and charts for actuarial and reserve studies, insurance department filings, and rate recommendations.
  • •Develop a basic knowledge of ratemaking procedures and extract data to spreadsheet format.
  • •Gather ERIE and industry information, present rate/reserve analysis to management, and communicate impacts to other departments as required.

Key Requirements

  • •High school diploma or GED required.
  • •Pursuing a bachelor’s degree; completion of sophomore year, majoring in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, or related field.
  • •Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 required.
  • •Proficiency in probability and statistics by passing the first actuarial exam is preferred.
  • •Basic knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, and database software is preferred.
