Job Summary

Coordinate and strengthen the Singapore branch’s Life & Health (L&H) actuarial activities across the Asia Pacific reinsurance business. Own actuarial reporting under IFRS 17 and local GAAP, support business planning projections, enhance reserving methodologies, and govern actuarial tools and model outputs. Provide technical guidance and limited local management for the actuarial team, while partnering with Munich stakeholders, finance leadership, and the Certifying Actuary and auditors.

Key Responsibilities

•Coordinate, review, and deliver L&H actuarial reporting for the Singapore branch under IFRS 17 and local GAAP, including escalation of material matters.
•Serve as the local coordination point for the Certifying Actuary workstream, supporting the preparation of the Actuarial Report and related actuarial inputs and evidence.
•Oversee and enhance reserving methodologies, processes, and model governance, ensuring alignment with Munich approaches and Singapore regulatory requirements.
•Lead the local actuarial operating model, including capacity planning and prioritization, and coach and guide actuarial team members.
•Coordinate with Singapore finance leadership and global L&H actuarial stakeholders, communicate key findings and risks, and engage external actuarial auditors.

Key Requirements

•At least 8 years of L&H insurance or reinsurance experience, including at least 3 years of post-qualification experience across reserving, valuation, reporting, assumptions, analytics, and governance.
•Strong IFRS 17 expertise and a solid understanding of L&H financials, reserving, pricing, and regulatory frameworks.
•Knowledge of Singapore regulatory reporting requirements relevant to the Certifying Actuary function, including MAS requirements such as MAS 133.
•Demonstrated ability to review and challenge actuarial models, tools, and model output.
•Advanced Excel skills; familiarity with VBA/automation and actuarial modelling platforms (e.g., RAFM, Prophet/FIS, AXIS) is advantageous.
