Job Summary

Provide respiratory care under the supervision of a Neonatologist/Pulmonologist, including management of ventilated patients in ICU and NICU and support during CODE Blue/Pink and emergency traumas. Set up and operate mechanical ventilation and respiratory equipment, monitor patient responses and arterial blood gases, and administer therapeutic gases and oxygen therapies. Assist with bronchoscopy and bedside procedures, perform bedside spirometry, and educate patients and families while complying with OSH and infection control.

Key Responsibilities

•Confer with physicians regularly about changes in treatment strategies and relay blood analysis results to a physician.
•Set up and operate mechanical ventilators and other respiratory equipment according to treatment parameters, and monitor equipment and patient responses to therapy.
•Administer and monitor therapeutic gases and oxygen therapies, including analyzing oxygen and other gas levels in a patient’s blood.
•Assist in bronchoscopy, bedside tracheostomy, and intubation; perform simple bedside spirometers and may support ventilator management under supervision in adult, pediatric, or neonatal ICU.
•Provide emergency care (artificial respiration, external cardiac massage, assistance with CPR), educate patients and families, and comply with OSH and infection control policies, including emergency and evacuation readiness.

Key Requirements

•Valid DOH/DHA License or DOH Pass result to work as a Respiratory Therapist in the United Arab Emirates.
•A bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Therapy from an accredited university, or an associate/master’s degree in Respiratory Therapy (minimum two years), or a bachelor’s in nursing followed by a postgraduate qualification in Respiratory Therapy.
•Minimum 2 or 3 years of experience after registration as a Respiratory Therapist.
•Must have valid Basic Life Support (BLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English (Arabic knowledge is an advantage) and excellent computer skills.
