Key Responsibilities

  • •Coordinate the hospital case management process and facilitate communication between all role players using accurate, timely clinical information.
  • •Minimise financial risk by effectively managing patient stay and ensuring case management procedures are followed.
  • •Ensure correct and timeous finalisation of cases to enable reimbursement from funders.
  • •Communicate consistently and timeously with funders through the relevant case management channels.
  • •Ensure clinical coding standards (Level 3 coding guideline) are adhered to and lead/manage the case management team if applicable.

Key Requirements

  • •Clinical qualification with an appropriate registration/qualification (Registered Nurse / Professional Nurse or qualified Paramedic).
  • •Minimum 3 years’ experience in a clinical role.
  • •Experience in Theatre and/or ICU; and/or medical aid background and private healthcare experience (or ILS/ALS Paramedic).
  • •Understanding anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology; plus funder contract and medical aid requirements/narrations.
  • •Knowledge of clinical coding and case management processes, including authorisation/motivation of Level of Care and electronic systems usage (B2B/funder portals), with computer literacy (Microsoft Office).
