Key Responsibilities

  • •Own the monthly and quarterly revenue close, including journal entries, account reconciliations, deferred revenue waterfalls, and tie-outs to the financial statements.
  • •Operationalize ASC 606 conclusions into repeatable close procedures, including performance obligation tracking, transaction price allocation, contract modifications, and variable consideration.
  • •Build and maintain revenue and contract cost analytics, including cohorted deferred revenue waterfalls, ASC 340-40 amortization schedules, recoverability analyses, and channel-level margin views that reconcile to GAAP revenue.
  • •Design and monitor data integrity controls from source systems through the revenue subledger to the GL, including completeness/accuracy checks and exception reporting; build monitoring for revenue risk indicators and translate them into accounting impacts.
  • •Partner with Technical Accounting on new contracts and go-to-market programs, support quarterly reviews and annual audits, and strengthen public company readiness by improving revenue controls, documentation, and reporting cadence.

Key Requirements

  • •5+ years of progressive revenue accounting experience, including public accounting foundation (Big 4 preferred) and experience supporting revenue close in a high-growth subscription or tech-enabled consumer environment.
  • •Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA strongly preferred.
  • •Hands-on expertise in ASC 606, including the five-step model, performance obligation identification, transaction price allocation, variable consideration, and principal vs. agent considerations.
  • •Working knowledge of ASC 340-40 contract cost capitalization and amortization, with ability to build and defend supporting analytics and recoverability assessments.
  • •Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite or Oracle or similar) and subscription billing platforms (Stripe or Recurly or similar); strong analytics skills using Snowflake (or comparable warehouse) and BI tools (Tableau or similar), with advanced Excel and SQL preferred.
