Job Summary

Own the system-level management architecture for advanced SmartNIC cards, defining production, provisioning, update, recovery, and reset flows that keep multi-silicon platforms secure and reliable. Serve as the resident expert across SmartNIC components (NIC ASIC, BMCs, MCUs, CPUs, CPLDs), specifying security provisioning and management protocol usage (MCTP, PLDM, SPDM, NC-SI). Partner with hardware, firmware, and QA, and author technical specs and test plans.

Key Responsibilities

•Define and document production, provisioning, update, recovery, and reset flows for SmartNIC cards, aligning board-level decisions with platform needs.
•Specify security provisioning flows including OTP fusing, secure boot enablement, attestation key injection, certificate chain management, RPMC key derivation, and PQC requirements.
•Specify and guide standard management protocol use (MCTP, PLDM, SPDM, NC-SI) across internal board interfaces for secure boot, firmware updates, and telemetry.
•Architect hardware/software interactions including CPLD logic requirements, power-sequencing dependencies, and reset orchestration for multi-host and standalone SmartNIC environments.
•Collaborate with Production, Hardware/Firmware Engineering, NIC firmware/driver teams, and QA; author technical specifications, test plans, and architectural design documents for development and factory production.

Key Requirements

•8+ years of relevant industry experience with complex computing or networking systems, particularly SmartNIC boards, chassis, or network tray architectures.
•Experience debugging or architecting flows involving BMCs (e.g., OpenBMC), MCUs, CPUs, and networking ASICs.
•Strong working knowledge of platform management and security protocols including MCTP, PLDM (Type 2, 5, etc.), SPDM, and NC-SI.
•Deep familiarity with board-level communication buses and interconnects (I2C, I3C, SPI, USB, PCIe) including reset mechanisms and link states.
•BS/MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
