Key Responsibilities

  • •Operate the Asphalt Distributor on road construction projects.
  • •Set spray bar on manual, automatic, or semi-automatic distributors for applying liquid asphalt.
  • •Oil, grease, service, and make normal operating adjustments to equipment.
  • •Perform minor servicing and maintenance, or refer major problems to the supervisor.
  • •Assist with related duties such as shovel work, setting string line, and adding or removing screed extensions.

Key Requirements

  • •Must have a current CDL license, preferably with Tanker endorsement, and ability to learn to operate an Asphalt Distributor Truck.
  • •Must pass a DOT physical and drug screen.
  • •Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • •Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • •Must be able to set spray bar controls for applying liquid asphalt using manual, automatic, or semi-automatic distributors.
