Job Summary

Lead mechanical design across the full lifecycle of energy projects, from feasibility and FEED through detailed design, construction, operation, and decommissioning. Support thermal generation, low/zero-carbon technologies, and carbon capture initiatives, preparing calculations, equipment specs, and datasheets while collaborating on PFDs and P&IDs. Partner with vendors, develop plant layouts and 3D models, and provide technical advice to improve asset integrity outcomes for clients.

Key Responsibilities

•Lead mechanical design development for energy projects across inception, development, construction, operation, and decommissioning phases.
•Deliver mechanical work across project stages including feasibility studies, concept designs, FEED, value engineering, and detailed design.
•Prepare mechanical deliverables including calculations, equipment specifications, and datasheets for turbines, compressors, pumps, pressure vessels, and heat exchangers.
•Collaborate with process engineers to develop process flow diagrams and piping & instrumentation diagrams, and support plant layout and plant 3D models.
•Develop mechanical proposals and bids, work with equipment vendors on package designs, and provide engineering advice for plant integrity issues on operational assets.

Key Requirements

•A degree in a relevant engineering subject.
•Chartered Engineer or working towards IEng/CEng and a member of a relevant Engineering Institute.
•Postgraduate work experience within Power Generation or Oil & Gas.
•Knowledge of national and international codes and standards for plant equipment and piping design/manufacturing requirements.
•Experience carrying out pressure vessel and piping design and stress analysis.
