Job Summary

Deliver electrical engineering design for mining infrastructure projects, handling basic and detailed design across distribution systems, equipment sizing, cable sizing, and key calculations (voltage drop, short circuit, earthing, lighting). Produce technical documentation such as design basis reports, specifications, BOQs, and bid analyses, and review vendor drawings and deliverables. Provide electrical system modeling (grounding, load flow, arc-flash) and support QA, progress updates, and client-focused engineering consultancy work.

Key Responsibilities

•Perform conceptual, basic, and detailed electrical design for mining projects, including layout development, electrical equipment design, and cable-related calculations.
•Design EHV/HV, MV, and LV distribution systems and electrical systems for hazardous and non-hazardous areas, including outdoor switchyards and substations.
•Develop scope of work, design basis reports, specifications, technical bid analysis, BOQs, cost estimates, and technical deliverables.
•Model electrical systems (grounding, load flow, short-circuit, arc-flash) and develop/coordinate protective relay settings.
•Review vendor drawings and electrical deliverables (one-line/three-line diagrams, schematics, interconnection drawings, equipment layouts, cable and panel schedules) and support QA/QC, progress reporting, and health & safety compliance.

Key Requirements

•6-10 years of experience in electrical engineering.
•Minimum bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering; master’s degree preferred.
•Strong ability to perform basic and detailed electrical design (electrical layouts, equipment/cable sizing, voltage drop, short circuit, earthing, and lighting calculations) and prepare design documentation.
•Experience designing EHV/HV, MV, and LV distribution systems and electrical systems for hazardous and non-hazardous areas.
•Sound knowledge of IEEE, IEC, and AU codes and standards, with strong written/verbal communication skills in English.
