Key Responsibilities

  • •Execute right-sized Agile Systems Engineering per the Systems Engineering Management Plan for development of the Thunder mission system and payloads.
  • •Lead design review and governance activities (e.g., PDR/CDR/TRR/SRB) representing the Systems Engineering discipline.
  • •Own and maintain functional decomposition, system breakdown structure (SBS), product breakdown structure (PBS), and architecture diagrams; develop key SE artifacts such as SDDs and ICDs.
  • •Champion test and evaluation planning (TEMP) and shape representative HIL/HITL integration environments and surrogate testing input.
  • •Own configuration and change management workflows, coordinate ticket triage and artefact capture/closure, and support safety and airworthiness efforts.

Key Requirements

  • •BEng/BSc/MEng in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, Computer Science, Robotics, Mechatronics, or similar, or equivalent experience.
  • •8+ years of industry Systems Engineering experience in safety-critical hardware and software systems in Defence or Aerospace, including crewed aircraft/rotorcraft/EVTOL/UAS/weapon systems with payload integration and autonomy/vehicle management focus.
  • •Demonstrable proficiency creating and managing systems engineering artifacts (e.g., functional decomposition and verification/validation plans) using pragmatic approaches.
  • •Deep understanding of test and evaluation across developmental, acceptance, and operational testing, including developmental autonomous aircraft experience.
  • •Eligible to obtain and maintain an active UKSV Security Clearance.
