Job Summary

Senior Electrical Engineer to design and oversee building electrical systems across multiple markets (Federal DoD, Commercial, Healthcare, Education, Transportation) in Oakland or San Francisco, CA. You’ll perform design through construction administration, mentor staff, coordinate with clients and disciplines, and contribute to decarbonization and renewable energy initiatives within a collaborative Buildings & Places practice.

Key Responsibilities

•Electrical engineering from conceptual design through construction administration and post-occupancy including writing reports for internal and external purposes based on findings.
•Be competent in all aspects of building electrical systems design for a variety of types of projects or markets to complete routing engineering assignments and calculations.
•Stays current on codes and technologies appropriate for building electrical systems including power, lighting, telecommunications and fire alarm systems.
•Researches, develops, designs, specifies, and witnesses the testing of electrical systems, equipment, components, and materials, applying principles and techniques of electrical engineering.
•Organizes and conducts site visits for the purpose of data collection and evaluation of electrical systems, equipment, components, and materials for projects with and without well-defined scopes of work.

Key Requirements

•BA/BS in Electrical Engineering, Architectural Engineering or similar +6 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
•Professional Engineer (PE) Registration
•10+ years experience in designing building electrical systems
•Strong electrical code knowledge including NEC, WSEC, UFC, ASHRAE and IECC
•Strong Revit and CAD experience
