Job Summary

Support students with Additional Educational Needs (AEN)/special educational needs by clarifying lesson content, preparing materials, reinforcing learning, and promoting independent study. Work closely with teachers and school staff to plan differentiated activities, supervise practical tasks, and maintain appropriate records of student progress. Help build student confidence, liaise with parents, and follow safeguarding, health and safety, and school policies.

Key Responsibilities

•Assist the school in achieving its vision, targets, and improvement-plan goals.
•Follow health and safety regulations and school policies, including safeguarding-related training and staff briefings.
•Develop an understanding of students’ AEN/special educational needs and ensure access to lessons through appropriate clarification, explanations, equipment, and materials.
•Support differentiated teaching by preparing resources, meeting with teachers on teaching and learning plans, and supervising practical tasks as needed.
•Reinforce learning, promote independent learning, support student organization, maintain liaison with parents, and record/track student progress appropriately.

Key Requirements

•Two-year diploma in Education or Special Education, or a high school diploma with Special Education training.
•At least 2 years of experience in the same field.
•Experience working with students for whom English is not their first language.
•Passion for teaching and commitment to educating the whole child, with professionalism and consideration for children’s well-being.
•Clean enhanced Disclosure and Barring Services check or police check.
