Key Responsibilities

  • •Own end-to-end delivery across the data platform, including streaming, warehousing, modelling, and the pipelines between them.
  • •Lead, coach, and grow the data engineering team, managing career development, feedback, and performance.
  • •Stay technically credible by reviewing real-time streaming designs and evaluating trade-offs in warehouse architecture and data modelling.
  • •Treat data consumers as first-class users by pushing for reliable data contracts, documented models, and safe changes for downstream dependencies.
  • •Drive operational excellence through data quality monitoring, incident response, post-mortems, and cost ownership with FinOps practices.

Key Requirements

  • •Experience managing a team of data engineers with accountability for delivery, growth, and performance.
  • •Strong technical depth to evaluate streaming architectures, spot incorrect data model trade-offs, and identify issues before production.
  • •Background building and operating data platforms at scale, ideally including medallion architecture, event streaming, warehousing, and DBT-style transformation.
  • •Ability to coach engineers across seniority levels, including retaining and stretching Staff-level talent.
  • •Exposure to machine learning, including directly managing or supporting ML engineers and understanding production model lifecycles.
