Job Summary

Inspect welding, structural steel fabrication, and steel erection for compliance with shop drawings, standards, and specifications. Evaluate corroded or damaged steel members and oversee repair welding and coatings. Review welding-related submittals, write daily digital shop/field reports, and collaborate with owners, fabricators, engineers, and other CWI/NDT technicians while participating in safety meetings. Perform related technical field and laboratory testing as needed.

Key Responsibilities

•Inspect welding, steel fabrication, and steel erection.
•Monitor compliance with approved shop drawings, standards, and specifications.
•Inspect and evaluate corroded and/or damaged steel members and repair welding and coatings.
•Review submittals including welding plans, WPS, WPQR, Welder Certification, shop drawings, and quality control reports.
•Write daily shop/field reports in digital format and participate in safety meetings.

Key Requirements

•High school diploma.
•Minimum 8 years of relevant post-education experience in the discipline.
•AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification.
•ASNT NDT Level II certification for Magnetic Particle Testing (MT) and Ultrasonic Testing (UT).
•Experience performing QA/QC during structural steel fabrication.
