Key Responsibilities

  • •Monitor docketing inbox and docket patent and trademark prosecution notices/correspondence received from foreign agents and the USPTO.
  • •Maintain the CPi database for the IP department’s patent and trademark files, including updates to client/inventor and foreign associate/attorney information.
  • •Download daily mail from PAIR and review newly filed applications for docketing.
  • •Compile reports for attorneys and their assistants as requested, and follow up on loss of rights dates.
  • •Add new matters to the docket system, clear docketed dates as tasks complete, and support training/second-eye review for IP docket clerks.

Key Requirements

  • •Minimum five years’ IP docketing experience.
  • •Advanced understanding of patent and trademark prosecution process, correspondence, and associated deadlines.
  • •High School Diploma required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • •Exceptional attention to detail and analytical/critical thinking to enter docket information accurately.
  • •Proficiency with computer/database tools, including Word and Excel; experience with iManage and CPi (Computer Packages, Inc.) preferred; PracticeLink preferred but not required.
