Job Summary

Operate packaging machinery in a highly automated meat processing facility to keep products moving continuously through the production process. Monitor and adjust machine settings, perform operator care (lubrication, inspections, repairs, cleaning), and ensure quality by running packaging checks and identifying material defects. Safely handle jam-ups and malfunctions, use tools like HMI workstations and scanners, and follow Tyson safety and process standards on the 2nd shift.

Key Responsibilities

•Operate machinery to maintain the continuous flow of products through the production process and ensure proper ingredients/supplies are used on the line.
•Monitor and adjust machine settings and notify a supervisor if machines require maintenance while maintaining a safe work environment.
•Perform operator care including basic lubrication, inspection adjustments, repairs, and cleaning, and participate in line-side problem solving for continuous improvement.
•Maintain a safe and organized workspace by following the 5S program and Andon System Stoplight expectations.
•Perform packaging checks, safely resolve jam-ups and equipment malfunctions, identify material quality defects, and weigh rework using a floor scale.

Key Requirements

•Minimum 3 months of machine or packer operator experience, and minimum 6 months of continuous work in the last 3 years.
•Experience must be documented on your application.
•Ability to work in a cold/damp environment with temperatures ranging from 28–42 degrees.
•Ability to lift, push, or carry up to 50 lbs and perform repetitive motions in a fast-paced environment.
•Ability to stand 8–12 hours per day and perform tasks including standing, bending, reaching overhead, twisting, and lifting/moving materials.
