Key Responsibilities

  • •Support the implementation of WHO strategies for country readiness across East and Southern Africa.
  • •Develop or adapt tools for country readiness assessment and readiness plans, and set up monitoring for readiness.
  • •Establish baselines for Incident Management System critical functions and support countries in strengthening their readiness to implement IMS during crises.
  • •Mobilize and coordinate relevant partners to ensure effective collective readiness across hub-covered countries.
  • •Expand and strengthen readiness partnerships and provide surge/backstopping for WHE colleagues during emergencies as required.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 7,000 - 8,480 monthly

Key Requirements

  • •Master’s degree in Public health and/or a related field from a recognized university.
  • •Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in public health emergency management at national and international levels.
  • •Sound technical expertise and experience in risk assessment in the health sector.
  • •Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • •Training or experience in public health emergency and partners’ coordination (desirable).
