Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead Milling, Grinding, and Polishing optics manufacturing operations for the CWW front end night shift, ensuring safe delivery of quality product to customers.
  • •Create annual performance goals and coach/mentor technicians, including developing competencies in technical skills, continuous improvement, teambuilding, and cross-training.
  • •With minimal supervision, lead technicians to meet manufacturing and product KPIs (e.g., 5S safety, first pass yield, on-time delivery, labor efficiency and accuracy).
  • •Plan and execute detailed production schedules, resolve problems, provide recovery plans, and escalate issues as needed.
  • •Partner with Production and Development Engineers to industrialize new products/processes and drive continuous improvement initiatives, including structured problem-solving and change control.

Key Requirements

  • •High school diploma minimum; bachelor’s degree desired in a science or engineering field (preferred).
  • •At least 5 years of supervisory/leadership experience in manufacturing or related fields, or 5 years of direct optics fabrication experience desired.
  • •Strong LEAN manufacturing and continuous improvement experience with a history of operational improvement.
  • •Computer proficiency with MS Outlook 365 and knowledge of SAP or a comparable ERP system.
  • •Familiarity with ISO9001 and ISO14001; direct working experience in an ISO-certified environment desirable.
