Key Responsibilities

  • •Tunnel lining design: develop detailed designs for tunnel linings (segmental, shotcrete, cast-in-place) and ensure designs meet project specs and safety standards
  • •Geotechnical and structural analysis: collaborate with geotechnical engineers, perform numerical modeling/FEA to assess soil-structure interaction and lining performance under loads
  • •Material selection and specification: specify reinforcement, waterproofing, and joint details for tunnel linings
  • •Project coordination: work with multidisciplinary teams and participate in design reviews and client meetings
  • •Construction support: provide technical guidance during construction, review shop drawings, and ensure design compliance

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field; Master’s degree in Structural or Geotechnical Engineering preferred
  • •2 years of experience in tunnel design with focus on tunnel lining systems
  • •Proficiency in structural and geotechnical analysis software such as PLAXIS, MIDAS GTS, Abaqus, SAP2000 or similar
  • •Knowledge of waterproofing systems, joint design, and durability considerations for tunnel linings
  • •Professional Engineer (PE) or Chartered Engineer (CEng) desirable, ITA/ASCE membership a plus
