Job Summary

Join SpaceX as an Environmental Engineer at Starbase, TX to support environmental, health, and safety programs at the Starship development site. You’ll manage regulatory compliance, air permitting, and environmental planning while collaborating with Engineering, Operations, Launch, and Construction teams to integrate environmental requirements into Starbase operations.

Key Responsibilities

•Support environmental regulatory programs at Starbase, ensuring compliance with permits and regulations by EPA, TCEQ, USFWS, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, FAA, and other agencies.
•Track, interpret, and communicate new and proposed environmental regulations and provide guidance on operational impacts.
•Manage air permitting compliance (PBR, PSD, and Title V), emissions calculations, recordkeeping, and continuous improvement of air compliance programs.
•Maintain and implement environmental plans such as TPDES permits, SWPPPs, SPCC plans, P2 plans, and hazardous waste management programs.
•Prepare and submit environmental compliance reports (Tier II, TRI, hazardous waste summaries).

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering or a related field
•3+ years of professional experience in the design, development, and execution of environmental and regulatory compliance programs
•Strong knowledge of Texas environmental regulations and agencies (TCEQ, USFWS, TGLO, USCG, etc.)
•Hands-on experience with air permitting (PBR, PSD, Title V), TPDES compliance management, and hazardous waste management
•Excellent technical writing and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex regulatory requirements to technical and non-technical audiences
