Job Summary

Grow and increase the mortgage banking loan portfolio and pipeline by attracting retail customers through lead generation and sales activities. Educate and inform consumers on mortgage solutions, convert interest into written credit requests, and maintain urgency to meet goals in a fast-paced environment. Build relationships with bank partners and real estate community contacts, evaluate applicants’ credit and finances, and partner with Loan Operations to support underwriting and closing. May supervise loan assistant(s).

Key Responsibilities

•Build and increase the mortgage banking loan portfolio and pipeline by attracting retail mortgage customers through leads and sales generation.
•Inform and educate consumers on mortgage loan solutions to drive written requests for credit and report on sales activities and pipeline.
•Develop and deepen relationships with bank partners, the real estate community, and other centers of influence.
•Obtain required borrower information and documentation and analyze applicants’ credit and finances to provide guidance and recommendations.
•Work closely with Loan Operations staff to facilitate underwriting and closing; may supervise loan assistant(s) or other staff as assigned.

Travel: Low travel

Key Requirements

•Register and maintain current registration with the National Mortgage Licensing System & Registry (NMLS).
•Proven high loan volume production over the past three years, and obtain (or be willing to pursue) the Certified Mortgage Planner designation.
•High school diploma or equivalent (associate’s degree and/or advanced training preferred).
•Minimum 15 years of mortgage origination experience.
•Exceptional time management plus strong communication and organizational skills. Must have a valid driver’s license and ability to travel regionally.
