Job Summary

Lead day-to-day project management for small to large Distribution, Substation, and Transmission Line projects for WSP’s Power & Energy team. You’ll manage project budgets, forecasts, margins, KPIs, risk contingencies, and contractual obligations while supporting project design oversight and stakeholder engagement. The role also includes recruiting and mentoring project management staff, driving QA/QC and project documentation updates, and contributing to contract negotiations and client presentations.

Key Responsibilities

•Provide PM leadership for distribution, substation, and transmission line projects by overseeing design, budgets, forecasts, margins, KPIs, risk contingencies, and performance.
•Support recruiting plan execution for the department by interviewing candidates, making recommendations, and monitoring retention.
•Oversee employee review processes for staff and provide performance guidance and leadership to assigned personnel.
•Drive pursuit and initiation activities including Go/No-Go decisions, contract reviews, risk mitigation, pricing reviews, and contract T&Cs negotiations.
•Ensure project documentation and reporting are maintained (e.g., risk, project management plan, project quality, safety, communications), and facilitate project closeout and lessons learned.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field within the Power & Energy Market (or equivalent experience), with PMP certification considered.
•10+ years of relevant post-education experience in a project management role within the Power Delivery/Utility Industry.
•At least 5 years of full lifecycle project management experience in applicable industry settings.
•At least 5 years leading project teams for medium to large electrical utility-scale clients delivering medium to extra high voltage power projects.
•Knowledge of core project management processes and tools including contract management, earned value management, risk management, change management, schedule management (e.g., Primavera P6), and financial management.
