Job Summary

Join Bynder Labs as an AI Research Intern to contribute to production-grade AI capabilities for the DAM platform. You’ll work on embeddings, semantic search, agentic AI workflows, and MCP integrations on AWS, pairing with a ML Engineer/Data Scientist to prototype, evaluate, and ship impactful AI research.

Key Responsibilities

•Take ownership of a focused research question on the Bynder Labs roadmap and drive it from literature review and prototyping through to evaluated experiments
•Build prototypes and experiments using modern AI tooling, large language models on AWS Bedrock, embedding models, vector search on OpenSearch, agent orchestration frameworks, and the Model Context Protocol (MCP)
•Design rigorous evaluations for non-deterministic AI systems, including offline benchmarks, LLM-as-a-judge pipelines, and online experiments on real data
•Stay up to date with recent research, summarise them for the team, and decide which ideas are worth implementing
•Contribute clean, well-tested Python code to shared Labs repositories and follow the engineering practices used by the rest of Bynder R&D

Key Requirements

•Available for a 6-month full-time internship starting September 2026 and enrolled in a school/university for the duration of the internship (credits counted)
•Based in the Netherlands and eligible to work there
•Strong Python skills, comfortable with Git, the command line, and reading others' code; familiarity with at least one ML/LLM framework
•Completed (or in progress) coursework in machine learning fundamentals and deep learning, plus at least one of Information Retrieval, Natural Language Processing, Multi-Agent Systems, Reinforcement Learning, Knowledge Representation, or Software Engineering for ML
•Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; fluent in English; team player and able to collaborate across disciplines
