Job Summary

Oversee Vessel Traffic Service (VTS) operations at the VTS Centre, supervising the service types, and the team responsible for carrying out VTS duties to the satisfaction of the Competent Authority and vessel users. Lead daily operations, ensure readiness of equipment, mentor operators, and drive adherence to maritime regulations and SOPs to maintain safe, efficient port movement.

Key Responsibilities

•Supervise the activities of the VTS Centre and the team responsible for conducting Vessel Traffic Service (VTS) in line with VTS procedures and Waterways standards
•Provide leadership to the VTS team for day-to-day management of high vessel movements and ensure the WMCC - VTS Centre is adequately manned and equipment is ready
•Ensure service quality meets the requirements of users and the VTS Authority; coordinate interfaces with allied services and port facilities
•Conduct annual assessments of VTS Operators and carry out revalidation assessments as part of on-the-job training
•Conduct in-house training on marine matters and toolbox talks; continuously assess VTS Operators’ performance and manage traffic plans

Key Requirements

•Diploma and VTS Certification log with C0103-2 Certificate
•A qualification in maritime or transport matters, accompanied with relative experience
•Experience in Maritime Operations and C0103-2 training is required
•Minimum of 3 years as a VTS Operator
•Knowledge of maritime regulations and terminology
