Key Responsibilities

  • •Support origination by pre-screening and identifying bankable projects and developing new transactions.
  • •Underwrite and monitor credit risk for loans and insurance cover inquiries, including sectoral, financial and legal risk analysis with country risk analysts.
  • •Assess complex structured finance transactions (e.g., pre-export finance, aircraft financing, project finance, reserve-based lending) and decide within risk authority or escalate to Credit Committee.
  • •Manage the live portfolio via risk monitoring, propose and implement mitigants, and handle waiver requests and regular credit reviews.
  • •Lead knowledge sharing within Specialty Credit and train the team; participate in industry collaboration, peer review, and relevant conferences/market analysis.

Key Requirements

  • •5–10 years’ experience as a credit analyst in trade credit insurance, banking, multilaterals/ECAs, or single-risk medium term credit insurance, preferably focused on trade finance and/or project finance.
  • •Strong analytical skills covering corporate & financial, sectoral, ESG and political risk, and transactional analysis with exposure to corporates across sectors.
  • •Ability to make credit decisions and review/comment on loan documentation, including complex legal structures.
  • •Proficiency supporting credit underwriting in a multicultural environment with fluent English and strong geopolitical knowledge, especially emerging markets.
  • •Relevant degree (preferably a master’s level) and recognised financial analyst qualifications would be advantageous; leadership and willingness to learn new tools/technologies (including AI).
