Job Summary

Lead the plant sanitation program to safeguard product quality, regulatory compliance, and consumer trust. Coordinate and monitor SSOP- and USDA-aligned sanitation activities, address deficiencies, and support proactive controls to prevent issues. Supervise sanitation employees, administer the RODAC sampling program, and collaborate with service providers, plant management, and USDA to review findings and resolve problems while maintaining strong audit performance.

Key Responsibilities

•Supervise sanitation employees, including hiring, training, performance management, and addressing employee concerns per company policies and applicable laws.
•Ensure sanitation activities are properly designed, executed, and documented to maintain safe, wholesome products and strong audit performance.
•Make defendable compliance decisions balancing productivity with regulatory requirements; coordinate regular meetings with sanitation providers, plant management, and USDA.
•Administer the RODAC program, including site sampling, analysis, corrective follow-up, and coordination with purchasing for supply continuity.
•Conduct pre-op inspection training and provide performance feedback to plant management while supporting strong working relationships with USDA and sanitation staff.

Travel: Low travel

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in Food Science or a related field plus 2+ years of relevant experience in professional sanitation or the meat industry and processes; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
•Experience providing training, coaching, mentoring, or managing a process/project as a lead.
•Understanding of sanitation science and USDA/FSIS/HACCP/SSOP requirements to uphold regulatory, company, and customer standards.
•Strong oral and written communication skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Access, Excel, and Word).
•Demonstrated ability to foster a positive, team-oriented work environment through respectful collaboration.
