Key Responsibilities

  • •Own the technical strategy and architecture for the POS Application Platform as the domain CTO for what runs on POS devices.
  • •Build and govern core platform pillars: developer experience, platform reliability (observability/uptime/quality), foundational frameworks, and squad adoption.
  • •Define and enforce engineering standards across POS device types and OEM manufacturers to ensure consistency and quality.
  • •Functionally lead embedded POS engineers across Payments, Onboarding, VAS, Savings, and Loans squads, setting the bar for engineering quality.
  • •Own POS observability end-to-end (monitoring, alerting, incident response) and drive device onboarding/integration architecture; scale the platform team through hiring and mentoring.

Key Requirements

  • •Minimum 10 years of hands-on software engineering experience, including at least 6 years leading engineering teams through meaningful growth phases.
  • •Direct, hands-on experience building software that runs on point-of-sale terminal devices (on-device application layer).
  • •Strong working knowledge of EMV standards and experience with payment certification processes such as PCI DSS and P2PE.
  • •Deep Android engineering expertise in Kotlin and Java for POS application development.
  • •Proven experience building internal engineering platforms and foundational frameworks used across other engineering teams.
