Job Summary

Design and deliver overhead line (OLE) engineering work for international rail projects, supporting tramway and HSR electrification and renewals. You’ll produce technical reports, drawings, structural steelwork and loading cases, perform mechanical and geometric calculations, and develop specifications while coordinating interfaces with other disciplines and stakeholders. Work within the Railway Systems team (50+ people) using CAD tools such as Microstation and AutoCAD in a flexible hybrid setup.

Key Responsibilities

•Develop technical reports, drawings, layouts, structural design, and loading cases for OLE systems.
•Produce structural steelwork, wiring arrangements, and bonding plans.
•Perform mechanical and geometric calculations for OLE systems.
•Work independently with new OLE design ranges and produce technical specifications.
•Establish interfaces with systems/disciplines/stakeholders, attend interdisciplinary reviews, and support construction queries while performing quality control management.

Key Requirements

•2-5 years of experience in OLE/OCS projects (new electrification and renewals) with railway industry understanding.
•Experience in the UK or Australia.
•Proficiency with CAD tools such as Microstation and AUTOCAD.
•Desirable knowledge of structural assessment software and the BIM environment.
•Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering BEng or MEng; Chartered Engineer is a desired qualification (US, Canada, UK, or Australia).
