Key Responsibilities

  • •Design, build, and operate backend services powering core marketplace experiences.
  • •Own work end to end: technical design, implementation, testing, deployment, observability, and iteration using production data.
  • •Build new services and features primarily in TypeScript while supporting and evolving existing Go services.
  • •Collaborate with product managers, designers, and mobile/web engineers to translate requirements into maintainable systems.
  • •Drive operational excellence through monitoring, alerting, incident response, and continuous reliability/performance improvement, while mentoring and contributing to backend standards.

Key Requirements

  • •6+ years of backend engineering experience on high-traffic, consumer-facing systems.
  • •Strong TypeScript (Node.js) proficiency for backend development (primary language for new services).
  • •Working proficiency in Go, with ability to ramp up to maintain and evolve existing production services.
  • •Experience designing and operating microservices, including REST/gRPC API design, service boundaries, versioning, and inter-service communication.
  • •Production experience with AWS and containerized deployments on Kubernetes, plus data/search expertise (MySQL/PostgreSQL, OpenSearch/Elasticsearch, Redis) and event-driven/asynchronous processing (Kafka, SQS, or similar).
