Key Responsibilities

  • •Develop and deliver safe solutions for autonomous vehicles and systems, eliminating or reducing harm to people, equipment, and the environment.
  • •Perform system safety engineering analysis and processes to shape delivered solutions that meet desired functionalities and safety needs.
  • •Demonstrate technical aptitude to understand product engineering requirements and constraints across mechanical, electrical, and chemical engineering domains.
  • •Drive system safety outcomes by anticipating problems, engaging stakeholders early, and supporting delivery of safe solutions while meeting program demands.
  • •Lead execution of system safety workstreams, including developing safety arguments, performing assessments and artefacts, and conducting independent safety assurance (including auditing).

Key Requirements

  • •Sound understanding and experience of the Systems Safety Engineering process in a safety-critical industry such as Defence, Vehicles, Railway, Aerospace, Nuclear, or Oil & Gas.
  • •Sound understanding and experience in autonomous vehicle and systems development and qualification.
  • •Proven track record leading System Safety Programs including safety arguments, assessments, and artefacts, plus independent safety assurance activities such as auditing.
  • •Experience conducting autonomous vehicle system safety analysis, including FHA, SOTIF analysis, and STPA.
  • •Working knowledge of MIL-STD-882, ISO 21448, and ISO 26262; ISO 15288 or SAE J3187 is desirable.
