Key Responsibilities

  • •Build and lead the Battery Technology organization across Battery Cell Engineering, Battery Systems Engineering, and in-region engineering in China.
  • •Define and drive the multi-year battery technology roadmap across cell chemistry, battery architecture, charging, safety, reliability, and performance.
  • •Own battery technology development from advanced exploration and supplier development through design, validation, manufacturing ramp, and field performance.
  • •Build strategic relationships with cell manufacturers and technology partners to influence supplier roadmaps and identify differentiating technologies.
  • •Partner across Hardware, Product, Operations, and Supply Chain to drive system-level tradeoffs across battery life, size, performance, integration, safety, and cost.

Key Requirements

  • •10+ years of experience in battery technology, battery systems, electrochemistry, or related hardware engineering, including meaningful engineering leadership experience.
  • •Deep expertise in lithium-ion cell technology, including chemistry, cell design, performance, degradation, safety, qualification, and manufacturing.
  • •Strong understanding of battery systems: pack architecture, charging, protection, validation, reliability, and product integration.
  • •Demonstrated success developing battery technology roadmaps and bringing new technologies from exploration into high-volume products.
  • •Experience building and leading multidisciplinary or geographically distributed engineering teams and developing technical leaders.
