Key Responsibilities

  • •Own compliance strategy and delivery for core product domains including payment processing and control mapping/verification standards.
  • •Translate complex multi-jurisdictional obligations into actionable product and engineering decisions.
  • •Represent Wise’s compliance position to regional regulators, internal forums, and external auditors where required.
  • •Build and maintain relationships across product, policy, and compliance teams globally to keep obligations consistent and current.
  • •Define and scale assurance frameworks to demonstrate confidence that controls are working.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: GBP 125,000 - 155,000 annually

Key Requirements

  • •Deep fintech compliance experience, with a track record of working directly within product teams (not alongside them).
  • •Comfortable in codebases and engineering discussions, including architecture reviews and technical complexity.
  • •Ability to move between regulatory text and product specifications while keeping both contexts intact.
  • •Strong communication skills to synthesize regulatory complexity into clear positions for non-specialists.
  • •Familiarity with payment scheme rules (SEPA, SWIFT, domestic real-time rails) and multi-entity or multi-licence compliance structures.
