Key Responsibilities

  • •Provide tactical and strategic legal support for Mastercard’s blockchain and digital currencies products and services, including governance and regulatory considerations
  • •Advise on governance aspects of Mastercard’s digital currency licenses and act as primary liaison to governance teams for regulated products
  • •Collaborate with product, technology, sales, franchise, marketing, regulatory and others to develop and launch innovative products and solutions
  • •Monitor and evaluate laws and regulations affecting Mastercard’s digital currencies business and inform internal policies and external positions
  • •Instruct and manage external counsel, draft, review and negotiate a wide range of contracts, and provide training to colleagues as needed

Key Requirements

  • •Licensed to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction (United States)
  • •Experience with distributed ledger technology, digital assets, stablecoins, and crypto currency
  • •Experience drafting, negotiating, and advising on a broad range of commercial and technology contracts (including technology agreements, customer and vendor agreements)
  • •Strong drafting, writing, and negotiation skills with ability to explain technical issues clearly to non-technical stakeholders
  • •Working knowledge of data privacy and intellectual property considerations related to emerging technology
