Job Summary

Prepare detailed quantity take-offs and full-service cost estimates for civil site and roadway construction projects. Gather and analyze historical and in-house cost data, solicit material and subcontractor quotes, and review bid packages including plans, CAD files, and geotechnical reports. Estimate schedules, analyze construction risk through plan interpretation and site visits, and assemble project hand-off packages for awarded bids.

Key Responsibilities

•Create detailed quantity take-offs and summaries for site work (grading, storm drain, utilities, and other civil scopes).
•Prepare full-service cost estimates using in-house and historical cost data.
•Solicit material and subcontractor quotes and review bid packages (specifications, plans, CAD files, geotechnical reports).
•Schedule rough estimates and analyze construction risk through plan interpretation and site visits.
•Develop project hand-off packages and communicate bid details to field personnel on awarded projects.

Key Requirements

•3-5+ years of proven experience as a construction estimator.
•Experience estimating large civil site development for residential and commercial projects.
•Experience with roadway estimating and working with DOT/municipalities.
•Experience estimating underground utilities (water, sewer, storm).
•Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word) and estimating/take-off software (Agtek Take-Off preferred, HCSS Heavybid preferred).
