Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead and manage the day-to-day activities, priorities, and performance of the Fire Safety & Emergency Response Engineering team, including performance management and hiring.
  • •Oversee operational budgets for Fire Safety & Emergency Response programs and develop engineering-based solutions to improve workplace fire safety and emergency response.
  • •Review and interpret fire safety rules, regulations, codes, and standards and provide technical guidance to management and engineering teams.
  • •Provide training, coaching, and technical guidance on fire risk assessments, fire protection system reviews, ITM procedures, emergency action plans, JHAs, hot work permits, drills/exercises, and risk management tools.
  • •Perform compliance audits, fire risk assessments, emergency response capability evaluations, fire protection system reviews, and process safety analyses; oversee ITM of life-safety systems and collaborate to ensure requirements are built into company processes.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree.
  • •5+ years designing, developing, and overseeing environmental, health, and safety programs with an emphasis on fire safety engineering and emergency response.
  • •3+ years leadership experience managing technical/engineering teams.
  • •Strong knowledge interpreting, applying, and documenting federal, state, and local fire and occupational safety regulations and standards (e.g., OSHA, NFPA, IFC/IBC, ANSI).
  • •Experience with fire protection system design/review, ITM programs, fire risk assessments, emergency action planning and drills, and PHA/HAZOP-focused fire/explosion engineering controls.
