Key Responsibilities

  • •Own and maintain the end-to-end architecture picture (data flows, service boundaries, ownership seams) and keep it current as the org changes.
  • •Identify systemic scaling, reliability, and cost risks across the pipeline and drive architectural changes before incidents occur.
  • •Set direction for API design and service patterns across REST, SDK, and MCP surfaces so the platform is coherent for customers.
  • •Lead cross-cutting architecture work full-time: drive decisions to closure, own the decision record, and ensure adoption across engineering teams.
  • •Strengthen and extend best practices (design reviews via RFCs, observability/quality/security-by-design, and API evolution), review critical designs, and teach through review.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 177,000 - 240,000 annually

Key Requirements

  • •10+ years of software engineering experience with 3+ years operating as an architect for a 100+ engineering org, owning platform architecture.
  • •Experience leading through influence—running design/architecture forums and driving adoption of standards across an org without direct reports.
  • •Deep expertise in distributed systems and high-throughput, low-latency backend architecture using Go (or similar) plus Kubernetes/AWS, with exposure to adjacent layers like SDKs, data pipelines, and ML serving.
  • •Strong experience designing public APIs and SDKs at scale, including versioning, backward compatibility, and multi-surface consistency.
  • •Exceptional written communication and AI-native design/review practices, with pragmatic judgment on balancing architecture and delivery pressure.
