Job Summary

Environmental Manager will support the Head of Environment to ensure Irish and EU environmental obligations are met across Dublin MetroLink, overseeing compliance, monitoring, and site environmental performance. The role provides strategic leadership on environmental management, ensures alignment with rail orders, legislation, and sustainability goals, and acts as client representative for environmental submissions and contractor oversight.

Key Responsibilities

•Lead compliance with all relevant Irish and EU environmental legislation (EIA, Habitats, Water, Noise, Waste, Air Quality, etc.).
•Oversee the implementation of mitigation measures and monitoring programmes set out in MetroLink’s EIAR and Sustainability Plan, including climate adaptation, materials efficiency, and biodiversity net gain.
•Act as Client representative in responding to environmental submissions from third parties, stakeholders, and regulators
•Review and approve Contractor Environmental Management Plans (CEMPs), method statements, permits, licences, risk assessments, and monitoring reports.
•Oversee the environmental monitoring programme and track performance indicators for noise, vibration, dust, water, ecology, waste, and carbon.

Key Requirements

•Degree in environmental science, engineering, ecology, or related discipline.
•Strong experience in environmental management on major infrastructure or transport programmes.
•Strong understanding of Irish EIA/SEA legislation, Construction Environmental Management, and EU Directives.
•Experience working client-side or in a PMO environment on large multi-disciplinary projects
•Demonstrated ability to lead environmental compliance programmes on complex construction sites
