Key Responsibilities

  • •Define and implement academic and programming strategy for assigned Health Sciences programs to meet long-term university goals.
  • •Continuously improve academic performance standards and curriculum performance tied to targeted student outcomes, including compliance and licensure examination requirements.
  • •Own area fiscal performance and operations, including profit/loss management, contribution margins, and net new student growth.
  • •Directly lead a diverse team of instructional faculty and program leaders, using coaching and mentoring to drive student success.
  • •Lead program marketing and external engagement by launching new/revised programs and representing WGU through thought leadership and partnerships.

Key Requirements

  • •Master’s degree from an accredited institution in public health, health and human services, health information management, healthcare administration, health sciences, education, business, or a closely related field.
  • •10 years relevant experience, including 5 years in senior leadership with hands-on experience hiring, managing, and scaling significant teams (or Bachelor’s + 15 years if no Master’s).
  • •Experience leading academic programs, professional education, workforce-development programs, or comparable healthcare initiatives from strategy through implementation and continuous improvement.
  • •Experience developing and managing budgets, allocating resources, and balancing academic quality, student outcomes, growth, and operational sustainability.
  • •Experience leading and managing a diverse team of program and academic leaders through coaching and mentoring to drive student success.
