Join the Minerals & Metals team as an intermediate Electrical Engineer based in Vancouver, supporting consulting projects in mining and related process industries. You’ll develop and review Electrical, Instrumentation & Controls (EIC) designs and deliverables (diagrams, layouts, studies, calculations), collaborate with electrical/I&C and cross-discipline teams, and support procurement, reporting, and on-site data collection.

Key Responsibilities

•Serve as an intermediate electrical engineer on projects, working under a senior engineer on primarily Canadian and US projects.
•Work with Electrical and I&C engineers and designers and interface with other disciplines, project management, clients, and vendors.
•Review and develop Electrical, Instrumentation & Controls (EIC) designs for detailed engineering phases.
•Develop and review deliverables such as schematic and wiring diagrams, single line diagrams, cable tray, lighting, equipment layouts, heat tracing, electrical lists, power quality and protection studies, and calculations.
•Prepare equipment procurement packages, support construction contracts and scope of work, attend site visits, and provide progress reporting; also authenticate deliverables via P.Eng stamping.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: CAD 97,000 - 120,000 annually

Key Requirements

•Electrical Engineering (BSc) degree.
•Be registered as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng) in British Columbia or able to transfer Canadian P.Eng from another province.
•Authorization to lawfully work in Canada without sponsorship from Wood (now or in the future).
•Minimum of 8 years of engineering experience supporting consulting projects for mining, metallurgical, or similar process industries.
•Knowledge of CSA and IEEE standards, including the Canadian Electrical Code, and ability to apply them to designs.
